Living God's Covenant: Exploring the Issues September 2007

How do YOU react on reading the JIC’s 2007 Interim Report

Comments are invited on the 2007 Interim Report 'Living God’s Covenant' that was presented to General Synod and to Conference earlier this month.

  • The Interim Report is published by Methodist Publishing House. Click here and add ‘Living God’s Covenant’ in the ‘search’ box for details and to order a copy.

Possible questions to be addressed:

  • What evidence is there of a positive ‘climate change’ between our two Churches?

  • What will sustain the patience and perseverance that seem to have been commended in both debates?

  • What issues most need to be addressed in the JIC’s ‘first quinquennial’ report due next year?

  • What should now be the priorities for the JIC and its successor body over the next two years or so?

The most stimulating and constructive responses will be added to the site. This does not rule out cogent criticism!

Comments will be reviewed for relevance and clarity before being added to the foot of this page. Comments in excess of 200 words may be edited.

NOTE – Work in Progress

Nothing in this section of the website should be taken to be a statement by the Joint Implementation Commission (JIC) of the Anglican-Methodist Covenant – still less by the Church of England or the Methodist Church of Great Britain. This allows for a wide-ranging conversation, which might contribute to forming future policy.
